Opportunties

We all have the opportunity in life to do good, to help someone in need, to be a friend to someone who may not be able to get out of he house, etc.

Don't let opportunities pass you by they are/were there for a reason and may not come around again for quite some time if ever and not only you will have missed out that other person or that opportunity, but that other person will have missed out also the importance of "it".

Let me tell what I am talking about someone I know had cancer and a long time after that I was compelled one time I saw her to just lay my hands on her the feeling was so strong to do this.  Before I knew it we got chatting and then I left her home. Unfortunately I didn't see her for quite a while so that feeling of "compassion" seemed to leave. When I saw here a long time after I did not have that feeling of "compassion" feeling in me like I did before.

Jesus says this in John 5 v 19 - "Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees The Father doing. For whatever The Father does, that The Son does likewise (ESV).

An opportunity did come to pass two weeks ago on a Thursday night when I was watching a under 16's  football match the match stopped abruptly as one of the players was injured his knee was badly injured swelling and cut it was an accident but nevertheless the young boy was extremely upset. He had to be carried off the pitch and was seated in a chair he was still very much in pain and upset and his leg was shaking. Something in me made me go over to the young boy (I had no idea of his name nor did I know who his mother was). but some how his mother seemed to know who I was in which I was surprised because it was probably only the fifth time I had attended the matches.

Anyway I went over to the young boy, his mother was there and I had the same feeling of compassion that I had with lady with the cancer but this time I acted (well God did. He did it all). Within five minutes the shaking had stopped! Philippians 4 v 13 says this - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (NKJV)

So on the Sunday only three days later I went to the football match again and the young boys mother came up to me and told me what had happened she said the doctor at the hospital had told her that her sons knee was very bad and he was to keep off it for two weeks. So they went home after the hospital visit and the next day she told me her son was up and about running around his knee was healed whereas he could not walk and who did that ------    Yes GOD did

What an awesome God He is isn't He.  Don't you agree?

                                                   Miracles still happen even today

Eyes Closed

Have you ever thought as to why we close our eyes when in prayer? This experience came only to me not so long ago while in my church.

The Bible does not instruct us to pray with our eyes closed. The only thing Jesus told us about praying can be found in Matthew 6 v 5-6 "whenever you pray do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that people can see them"

For me especially I sort of did a little experiment because I didn't really "know and feel the difference" between open and closed eyes until this morning. I realize each experience is different from other peoples experiences because we are all individuals created by God aren't we?

When my eyes were open I could hear clearly what was being said, but I felt should I say "empty", but then I closed my eyes and I felt "secure (full). It is really difficult to explain but it is true.

Psalm 122 v 7 says - Peace be within your walls and security within your tower. (biblehub.com)

Psalm 16 v 8 says - I have set the Lord always before me because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. ((ESV)

2 Samuel 22v17 says - He reached down from on high and took hold of me, He drew me out of deep waters. (NIV)

These scripture verses are for example only as it is hard to describe, but you may know what I am saying.

Pray without ceasing
